Quiet River of Dust were born when Richard Reed Parry was invited to perform at the National’s All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival in 2012. The group is comprised of Parry, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumental musician and artist Laurel Sprengelmeyer, aka Little Scream, and Parry’s Bell Orchestre bandmate Stefan Schneider who also plays drums and percussion with The Luyas, [iks], Sage Raynolds, and Rodéoscopique. The trio create sonically immersive folk songs which are an antidote, Parry explains, to his “absurdly famous rock band”.
