Sounds from a Safe Harbour is delighted to present another very special collaboration in an evening with Kjartan Sveinsson (ex Sigur Ros) and Skuli Sverrisson. Former keyboardist for the icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós, Kjartan Sveinsson, is a multi-instrumentalist and neo-classical composer, while bass guitarist-composer Skuli Sverrisson has worked with a veritable who’s who of the experimental world, from free jazz legends (Wadada Leo Smith, Derek Bailey) to music icons (Lou Reed, Jon Hassel, David Sylvian, Arto Lindsey) and composers (Ryuichi Sakamoto, Johann Johannsson and Hildur Gudnadottir).
Former keyboardist for the Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós. He joined the band in 1998. A multi-instrumentalist, Kjartan has performed under the pseudonym ‘The Lonesome Traveller; with Sigur Rós band-mate Orri Páll Dýrason and Amiina violinist María Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir. He regularly collaborates with acclaimed contemporary artist Ragnar Kjartansson including creating a theatre play with no actors where Kjartan’s compositions appear in place of actors speaking lines.
