James McVinnie held organ playing posts at St Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey and now divides his time between playing as a soloist and collaborating with some of the world’s leading contemporary composers and performers, including Oneohtrix Point Never, Sufjan Stevens, Nadia Sirota, Liam Byrne, Sam Amidon, and Valgeir Sigurðsson. Programme will include works by Philip Glass, Richard Reed Parry, Sufjan Stevens, Nico Muhly, David Lang and Edmund Finnis.

James McVinnie is an English organist who was Assistant Organist at Westminster Abbey between 2008-2011, where he played for regular services and also at many important state occasions which were broadcast on TV around the globe. These included the state visit of HH Pope Benedict XVI and the 2011 Royal Wedding.

McVinnie regularly collaborates with leading artists across a broad range of contemporary musical contexts; including composer Nico Muhly, violist Nadia Sirota, composer/producer Valgeir Sigurðsson, Sufjan Stevens, Sam Amidon, Oneohtrix Point Never, Beth Orton, Bryce Dessner and Ben Frost. McVinnie released his debut album, Cycles in 2013.
