WoodMetalWater is a highly engaging concert that will take the audience on a journey through the sounds of Cork City Harbour. Curated by Alex Petcu-Colan and performed by the Bangers and Crash Percussion Group, the music will include major works by Steve Reich, Louis Andriessen, Tan Dun and Donnacha Dennehy, and will be performed using sounds derived from wood, metal and water as sources.

Created by Cork audio compositors Eat My Noise; this night of music will take you onboard a ship on a journey to harbour through the marriage of two stories; Ireland’s worst storm, and the epic story of Aeneas and the rage of Juno.
Eat My Noise, in association with the Cork Opera House & the Cork Concert Orchestra, will be joined by Sean Mac Erlaine, Valgeir Sigurðsson, Liam Byrne, Alex Petcu, Tomas Gall, Donal Dineen (visuals), James Fortune & choir for this electro-orchestral odyssey; not to be missed.


Hailing from Cork, Alex Petcu-Colan is establishing himself both nationally and internationally as a percussionist of the finest calibre. A busy freelance musician, he regularly performs as a soloist, as an orchestral member and as part of ensembles of every size in between.
